Sergeant Paul Richardson commented that when it comes to uninsured motorists, there is no compromise.
"It's an absolute offence to have no insurance and if you are caught driving on the roads of West Yorkshire you will have your car seized and you will either be issued with a £200 fixed penalty notice or find yourself appearing before magistrates," he stated.
People driving in the post code area are six times more likely to be hit by an uninsured driver than in other areas, the MIB discovered.
Meanwhile, the organisation also found that more than 40 per cent of the vehicles in BD8 area are also without insurance. This includes Lower Grange and Manningham.
Police in the town are now using a 'capture car' to ensnare criminals who target vehicles where belongings have been left on show.
