Young driver insurance policyholders' favourite the Volkswagen Golf has won an award for being the best business vehicle.
BuisnessCar magazine voted the model Business Car of the Year through reader votes, which the publication suggesting the car combines a good drive with impressive running costs and brand prestige.
While the model scooped the top prize, other important accolades were handed out to BMW, which picked up Manufacturer of the Year and the Environmental Award for its Efficient Dynamics package.
"It's no surprise that such a desirable and popular product was voted Business Car of the Year by the people whose organisations depend on making the right choices - the BusinessCar readers," said BusinessCar editor Paul Barker.
Volkswagen's head of fleet services Vincent Kinner said winning the award was an honour.
"This award is particularly important to us and we are very proud as it was voted for solely by the publication's readership, a highly influential group within the fleet arena," he commented.
Car insurance policyholders can invest in their own Golf from £14,850 on the road, with the model equipped with numerous mod-cons such as a CD player and air condition. Safety features include seven airbags, an electronic stability programme and an antilock braking system.
