Amendment fees
Cancellation fees
Processing fees
Reprint documentation / Proof of No Claims Discount fees
Non return of Credit Agreement fee
Note that these fees can vary over time. Full details of any fees for amendments or services related to your policy can be found in your policy documentation.
If you request a mid-term amendment and a reprint of your Certificate of Motor Insurance at the same time, only the higher of the two fees will be charged.
The fees cover administration costs for changes to car insurance policies, for example, the production and despatch of the new policy documentation, operator time etc.
The amendment fee is not charged for amending bank details or arranging alternative deduction dates.
Amendment fees are due on the date the amendment is set on the car insurance policy, even though the amendment itself may not be effective until a later date.
Current fee: up to £30.
If a car insurance policy is cancelled prior to expiry, a cancellation fee will be payable, unless the agreement is cancelled because the car has been written-off in a claim (Note that only the cancellation fee is not payable, the full annual premium still has to be paid and any outstanding policy premium will still be due - note that any outstanding premiums can be deducted from claims proceeds due to you).
Cancellation fees are due immediately the cancellation of the car insurance policy becomes effective.
If you cancel your policy within 14 days: £38 plus a charge in proportion to the period of cover you have enjoyed.
If you cancel your policy after 14 days: £75 plus a charge in proportion to the period of cover you have enjoyed.
The policyholder will incur a processing fee if the first deduction of any due premium is returned from the bank unpaid, and we are prepared to attempt a second deduction.
Some of the return reasons from the bank mean that no second deduction is attempted, for example, if the account holder is deceased or if the account is closed.
The processing fee is deducted together with the second attempt of the premium deduction.
Current fee: £25.
If you want a duplicate copy of either your policy documents or proof of No Claims Discount you may have to pay a fee. This fee as a rule is NOT refundable. The charge for the reprint covers the administration costs.
Current fee: £20.
If you do not return a signed copy of your credit agreement within 14 days of receving your policy documents a fee will be charged. This applies to customers paying by monthly instalments only.
Current fee: £20
