All car insurance policies have an expiry date, usually 12 months after the policy was sold or was last renewed. Renewal is the process of continuing cover from the current period of insurance to the next. When the time comes for a car insurance policy to be renewed, you can be sure that we will continue to act on behalf of our customers.
If we are in a position to offer car insurance cover for a further year, we will send a renewal notice about three weeks before the current car insurance policy expires, inviting our customer to renew their insurance with us.
The renewal notice will contain details of the new car insurance policy on offer, including the premium and any changes to the cover, service or insurer.
In many cases, customers will be able to choose to allow their existing car insurance policy to conveniently renew for a further year at the premium and terms specified in the renewal notice, without having to call us. We will include contact details if customers do need to call us.
Customers should check their renewal offer carefully to determine whether they do need to call us - if the renewal offer does not state that their car insurance policy will automatically be renewed, customers will not be insured if they do not call us.
Please check the renewal offer carefully, and notify us if any of the details are incorrect or need to change. Any changes could lead to the renewal offer being recalculated.

We now have the facility for some of our customers to renew their policy online. Please see your documentation to see if this option is available to you.
Any renewals requested via e-mail should not be considered as actioned unless confirmation has been received from a member of our customer services staff, and the appropriate documentation received.
New car insurance policy documents and a Certificate of Motor Insurance will be sent out automatically when the new period of insurance commences (A Cover Note will be sent out initially, followed by a full annual certificate, subject to the payment of any required deposits or premiums).
